The Pottery at the Courtyard Centre opened in
1990.Tradpots (traditional hand-thrown pottery) not only
has a large display area for customers to browse at
leisure, but it is also a working pottery where visitors
can often watch the potter at work! Mark has his own
throwing wheel, casting room, glazing facilities, kiln
and workshop to complete the whole process from raw clay
to finished product on-site.
Vases are created on a throwing wheel, left to
dry overnight, then ‘turned’ to ready them for
carving. Each pattern is unique and hand carved
into the pot using a special tool. |
Each stunning hand carved vase
or painted plate is unique and comes with a
certificate of authenticity.
The ‘MB’ originals
can take over 8 hours to produce and are highly
collectable items. Mark is happy to take
commissions and create an exclusive work on
consultation.
Feel free to come in and look around, with
pottery, terracotta garden pots, mugs, gifts and
more there is something at the pottery for
everyone.
Little ones (and those who are young
at heart) may like to try painting their own
plaster models.

Once the background colour
